Lumin S2 combines network music playback with digital-to-analogue conversion in a single aluminium chassis. Its design draws on the X1 platform, adding Lumin's newer processor and connections for external digital sources.
Dual-mono conversion
A separate ESS ES9038PRO DAC serves each channel. The balanced analogue circuit couples its outputs through two Lundahl LL7401 transformers, with both XLR and RCA connections available for the rest of the system. Femto oscillators and FPGA clock distribution support the conversion stage.
One chassis, separate power rails
Two internal toroidal transformers supply the digital and analogue sections independently. Shielding and low-noise linear regulation keep this power architecture within one enclosure.
Network playback and external sources
S2 plays network audio up to DSD512 and 384kHz PCM. Optical SFP and copper Gigabit Ethernet support different network layouts. Coaxial RCA and optical TOSLINK inputs also let a compatible disc transport or other digital source use the S2's DAC; these inputs accept PCM up to 192kHz/24-bit and DSD64 over PCM. USB provides digital audio output to an external DAC.
Everyday control
The Lumin app manages playback and playlists, alongside supported streaming and third-party control services. Leedh Processing provides digital volume adjustment. S2 is offered in silver/raw aluminium and black anodised finishes; streaming-service subscriptions and final system compatibility are confirmed separately.
